Dêqë-rëthî Fêqê (/ˈdɘqë/ /ˈrëʃɪ/ [spontaneous] [risk; threat]) is a subtropical Town located in the Mèrevaqêyê Zone of the Union of Engineers.

The name Dêqë-rëthî Fêqê is derived from the Iron Elvish language, as Dêqë-rëthî Fêqê was founded by Shêbêb Zëgesëm, who was culturaly Iron Elven.

Climate

Dêqë-rëthî Fêqê has a yearly average temperature of 29°C (84°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a hot 31°C (87°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a warm 27°C (80°F). Dêqë-rëthî Fêqê receives an average of 282 cm/y (111 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the spring. Dêqë-rëthî Fêqê covers an area of nearly 5 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 1274 m (4179 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Dêqë-rëthî Fêqê was founded durring the early 12th century in winter of the year 1140, by Shêbêb Zëgesëm. The establishment of Dêqë-rëthî Fêqê was only bairly constructed. The sheer number of problems with its founding were enough to make several of the backers funding Dêqë-rëthî Fêqê's construction back out of the project. Shêbêb Zëgesëm pushed on reguardles, and Dêqë-rëthî Fêqê was finished, but starts off as a terible place to live.

Dêqë-rëthî Fêqê was built using the conventions of Iron Elven durring the early 12th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Dêqë-rëthî Fêqê is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature delicute timber framework hidden behind layer upon layer of finly ground plaster bleached to an almost glossy white sheen, with green clay tiled roofs and decorative brass-leafed trim. Even the smallest, poorest looking structures appear to be expencive thanks to the extreem elegence of the organic shapes and paterns going into their lofty, spire-y, vagly gothic designs. The more well off folks live in identicle homes, save for even shiner trim and a more whimsical appearance to their structures flowing forms.

Dêqë-rëthî Fêqê is buildings are arranged arround a network of crampt paverstone streets which form a diagonal shaped grid, where each square verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller square has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town sits behind an impressive looking clay brick wall. The wall is notable for querried stone blocks being used to renforce the clay bricks in the expected manner and locations. While the wall was built to the exact specifications of modern fortifications, one has to wonder why the money invested into creating such a well fortified wall wasnt spent on a less impressive looking wall crated from sturdier materials. Dêqë-rëthî Fêqê's walls would endure a brief bombardment, but only from light siege weapons. It seems more likly the town's walls were not designed with defence in mind but rather lending the town a certain air with visitors. Dêqë-rëthî Fêqê's boondoggle-of-a-fortified wall are in an unremarkable state. To some, this is the ideal sate for defences to be in. In need of absoutly nothing, and ready to serve the town as needed.

A look around Dêqë-rëthî Fêqê gives you an uneasy feeling. Everything is just a little too worn down, a little too dirty, or both. No one makes eye contact. Kids play quietly, but happily. Occasionally a passerby glances at you out of the corner of their eye, staring just long enough for it to be uncomfortable. A second look around Dêqë-rëthî Fêqê makes it abundantly clear the town suffered something horrible some time ago. It's as if the town itself is depressed. Smiles are few, cheer is nowhere to be had.

Cultural Notes

While Dêqë-rëthî Fêqê might ostensibly be ruled by some other power, real control lies with the senior members of the local craft and labor guilds. Their decisions have the practical weight of law, and much of their time and effort is spent squeezing out competitors and parceling out economic opportunities in the community. Some guilds might have little or nothing to do with their original trade, and now exist purely as shells for political influence.

Dêqë-rëthî Fêqê's mayor's house was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is characterized by grandeur of scale, simplicity of geometric forms, dramatic use of columns, and a preference for blank walls. This design ethos extended to re-imagining earlier styles of structure to create them anew, with a similar overall look and feel to one another..
